Former Minister, sitting MLA of Bagalkote Constituency HY Meti passed away on Tuesday. He was 79 years old.

HY Meti, who was admitted to a private hospital in Jayanagar, Bengaluru for a few days due to severe illness, died today after the treatment failed.

H.Y. Meti (Hullappa Yamanappa Meti) was elected to the Assembly in the 2023 assembly elections in Bagalkote assembly constituency defeating BJP’s Veeranna Charantimath. He lost in the 2018 assembly elections.

Previously, HY Meti was the Excise Minister in the Siddaramaiah government from 2013 to 2016. At that time, he was involved in a sex scandal and resigned as a cabinet minister.
