Vadodara: At two shows of the play ‘Hamare Ram’ held at Sir Sayajirao Nagar Gruh in Akota, the audience endured extreme heat due to a non-functional air conditioning system. Bollywood artist Ashutosh Rana, who performed in the play, expressed regret to the audience and urged the local MP present at the show to address the issue.
The play, featuring Ashutosh Rana, had two shows—one at 2:30 pm and another at 7 pm. Both shows were packed with spectators, but the lack of air conditioning made the experience uncomfortable. Fans had to be installed as a temporary relief measure. During the evening show, Vadodara Lok Sabha MP Dr. Hemang Joshi was present. After the play concluded, Rana apologized to the audience for their discomfort and requested the MP to take immediate action. Responding to the request, the MP contacted the municipal corporation engineer, who stated that a work order for the AC repairs had already been issued.
Notably, five months ago, a proposal to repair the AC system at Sir Sayajirao Nagar Gruh was sent to the standing committee, but the decision was delayed. Had the proposal been approved earlier, the repairs could have been completed during winter. However, the proposal was finally approved just a week ago, meaning the AC repairs will now take place in summer. The inconvenience faced by hundreds of spectators, along with the artist, highlighted inefficiencies within the Vadodara Municipal Corporation. DeshGujarat
