Rubina Dilaik and Abhinav Shukla are one of the most loved couples on Indian television. After Bigg Boss 14the duo is now gearing up to participate in Pati Patni Aur Pangawhich premieres today (August 2) on Colors TV. During the show’s promotions, Zoom sat for an exclusive interview with Rubina and Abhinav. In conversation with us, Rubina mentioned that they aren’t the usual lovey-dovey or mushy couple. The actress said that they’re strongly opinionated and respect each other’s opinions.
Rubina Dilaik: I and Abhinav are strongly opinionated
When asked if they’re the power couple or underdog couple of Pati Patni Aur PangaRubina described how she and Abhinav are generally as a couple in real life.
“We are the weird couple. This is my perspective. Because we are that very lovey-dovey or into each other. We are not the mushy ones at all. We are strongly opinionated. I respect his opinion a lot, and he respects my opinion a lot. Our sparks or moments of love are not the usual ones. ‘Oh my baby, I love that’— we are not that,” said Rubina.
The actress further revealed, “If I have to compliment about his a**, I will do that. And I genuinely mean that. When I have to compliment him about his beauty and his charisma, I do it—which generally people mollycoddle it or maybe present it in a very acceptable way. I think that’s what it is.”
Abhinav Shukla: We are setting standards for our daughters
Abhinav, who was also a part of this conversation, shared his perspective too. He said, “I think we are good and we are how a couple should be. We are setting standards for our daughters. So, we are careful. I feel our both parents would be happy. She is their (Abhinav’s parents) favourite. Jab Mere Maa-Baap Dekhte Honge, Vo Log Sochte Honge ‘Wow, we thought our son should get (a good partner), he got it’.”
When Abhinav was asked if his parents got an ideal daughter-in-law, the actor agreed and said, “Yes, because two (she is ideal daughter-in-law).” He continued to add, “We both are nationalists. Humare sanskaar jo maa-baap ne diye hainwe are still holding on to them with the newness that this world has taught us. We are a better version of both the worlds.”
For the unversed, Rubina and Abhinav got married on June 21, 2018. The couple was blessed with twin daughters, Jeeva and Edhaa, in 2023.
