
The University of Jammu took to microblogging platform, ‘X’ (earlier known as Twitter) to clarify that the J&K State Eligibility Test (JKSET) has not been cancelled or rescheduled/ postponed. The J&K State Eligibility Test Agency has emphasised that the JKSET/ LASET (2024-25) examination will be held on September 7 (Sunday) as scheduled originally.
“It is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that the JKSET/LASET (2024-25) Examination shall be conducted as per the scheduled date, i.e., 07.09.2025 (Sunday),” the official notice from J&K State Eligibility Test Agency , University of Jammu stated. “All candidates are advised to reach their allotted examination cities one day prior to the date of the examination to avoid any inconvenience.”
The varsity also added that the examination centre earlier allotted at Examination Hall (B & D), University of Jammu (near J&K Bank) has now been shifted to PG Department of Law, University of Jammu.
This notice of clarification comes at a time when the Union Territory has been facing flood-like situation in the region for the past two weeks. Due to the unfavourable weather conditions in the region, schools, colleges and all educational institutions had been ordered to remain closed for the past two weeks. Due to this, recruitment exam for Junior Engineer and JKBOSE exams were also postponed. With this in mind, JKSET aspirants had also been demanding postponement of the sarkari exam, with some miscreants also spreading fake news that the exam has been cancelled.
JKSET, or the Jammu & Kashmir State Eligibility Test for Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship, is a state-level exam accredited by the UGC and conducted by the University of Jammu.
