An average of 18.4 mm rainfall was recorded in Delhi in the last two days. The highest rainfall was recorded in Palam, where 52.6 mm rainfall was recorded. Ridge recorded 44.8 mm rainfall and Ayanagar 37.9 mm rainfall.

Earlier on Monday, it rained with strong winds in many areas of NCR. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted light to moderate rain and thundershowers in NCR.

According to the Meteorological Department, a western disturbance has been active since the departure of monsoon on September 24. At the same time, moist winds are continuously blowing from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. Due to pressure from both sides, conditions of rain are being created.

A forecast of light clouds has been issued for Wednesday also. The sky is expected to remain clear from October 9 to 13. Due to rain in the last two days, the maximum temperature was recorded at 29.8 degrees Celsius, 4.4 degrees below normal.

The minimum temperature was also recorded at 21 degrees Celsius, 1.3 degrees below normal. A day earlier, the Meteorological Department had issued an alert regarding light rain in Delhi as well as in Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram and Faridabad of Uttar Pradesh. However, the rains will stop in Delhi-NCR for the next few days. The sky is expected to be clear.

RDC Rajnagar, Deendayalpuri, Nehru Nagar, Shibbanpura, Patel Nagar, Kalka Garhi, Ghukna, Hindan Vihar, Mukund Nagar, Daulatpura, Nandgram, Sihani, Krishna Nagar, Nasirpur, Mariam Nagar, Noor Nagar, Vijay Nagar and Pratap Vihar Colony were also waterlogged. Ramte Ram Road was flooded up to one foot.

Waterlogging on highways due to rain

Cyber ​​city Gurugram and industrial city Faridabad also received heavy rain for about half an hour in the evening. This led to waterlogging on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway in Gurugram and slowed down vehicular movement from Hero Honda Chowk to Khedki Daula Toll Plaza.

There was an eight kilometer long traffic jam. In the evening, drivers coming out of corporate offices in Cyber ​​City got stuck in traffic jam on the highway. Similarly, movement of vehicles slowed down due to waterlogging on service lanes of Delhi-Agra National Highway and Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Faridabad.
