In Malayalam, Domnik Arun’s ‘Loka Chapter 1’ with Kalyani Priyadarshan also stood before the people as a Pan India movie. The film became the number one grosser in Kerala. While ‘Loka Chapter One’ was released on August 28, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ greeted the audience on October 2. It has become a special thing that these two movies will be released on OTT platforms on 31st October. While ‘Loka’ will be streaming on Jio Hot Star, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ will be buzzing on Prime Video.
Undoubtedly, the film that stood as the top grosser in All India this year is ‘Kantara Chapter 1’… It seems that this film has collected around 850 crores so far… and when it comes to the movie ‘Loka Chapter 1’, it has seen a total of 300 crores. But if we look at the calculations, it can be said that ‘Loka’ has the upper hand. Because ‘Loka Chapter 1’ movie which was made with only 30 crore rupees has collected 300 crores. That means it has achieved 10 times more than the investment. Although ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ was a bumper hit, it did not see profits in this proportion.
When it comes to ‘Kantara Chapter 1’, this movie was opened with 125 crore rupees. This movie has collected 850 crores so far. That means ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ collected 6.8 times. While ‘Loka’, which is a superhero movie, revolves around a girl, ‘Kantara’ is a hero-centric story. Both movies are made with supernatural powers. None of them were well received. Therefore, people who don’t watch movies in theaters are showing interest in watching them on OTT. Moreover, both the films will be streaming on the same day on different platforms.
