New Delhi: There is a lot of enthusiasm for festivals in the country these days. After Diwali, preparations for Chhath Puja are now going on in full swing. Meanwhile today is Bhai Dooj. Banks will remain closed in many states of the country on this occasion. Along with Bhaiya Dooj, bank holidays have also been given in many states today due to Chitragupta Jayanti, Lakshmi Puja, Bhatri Dwitiya and Ningol Chakauba. According to RBI, banks will remain closed in the states of Gujarat, Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh. There will be regular functioning in banks in the rest of the states of the country.

However, now a lot of the work of banks has shifted online and you can do many banking related tasks from your smartphone while sitting at home. But still one has to go to the branch for many bank related works. After this, even during Chhath Puja, banking services will be affected in many states of the country on 27th and 28th October. After that, banks will remain closed in Gujarat on 31st October on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti.

  • 23 October (Thursday) – Banks will remain closed in Gujarat, Sikkim, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Himachal Pradesh due to Bhai Dooj, Chitragupta Jayanti, Lakshmi Puja, Bhatri Dwitiya and Ningol Chakauba.
  • 25 October (Saturday) – Fourth Saturday.
  • 26 October (Sunday) – Sunday holiday.
  • 27 October (Monday) – Banks will remain closed in Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal due to Chhath Puja (Evening Arghya).
  • 28 October (Tuesday) – Banks will remain closed in Bihar and Jharkhand due to Chhath Puja (Morning Arghya).
  • 31 October (Friday) – Banks will remain closed only in Gujarat on the occasion of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti.
