Brazilian forward Robson Robinho has joined Mohun Bagan Super Giant, the Indian Super League side announced on Saturday.
Robinho, who has previously played in the Brazilian Serie A (Brazil’s top flight), joins MBSG from EC Agua Santa (SP), a Sao Paulo-based club playing in the region’s third division.
The 30-year-old has played most of his professional football in Brazil but made a significant mark in South Asian football during his stint with Bashundhara Kings.
Robinho won seven trophies with the Bangladeshi side, scoring 64 goals and providing 49 assists in 97 appearances.
“I have played against Mohun Bagan when I was with Basundhara Kings. I knew then that it’s India’s most successful club. I’m sure the people at the club remember how I played in that match, and I hope to emulate the same kind of success here. Let’s wait and watch,” said Robinho.
