The organization has alleged that these steps are weakening the social character of public banks and they are gradually moving towards privatization. Steps like large-scale bank mergers, outsourcing of functions, and appointment of private sector directors to boards are ostensibly administrative reforms, AIBOC Secretary Amaresh Vikramaditya said in a press release. But they are working to eliminate employment opportunities and weaken the reservation policy.
