Recently, veteran actor Renuka Shahane appeared in a light-hearted Prime Video series Did. The actor nailed the role of Pushplata Yadav, the village leader working to be the Sarpanch. During a recent interview with us, the actor spoke about the show, feminism and the biggest feminist ally in her life, her husband Ashutosh Rana. Renuka Shahane On How Ashutosh Rana Is A Feminist Ally To Her
Renuka Shahane said, “The fact that he respects me, my work, he wants me to write, to direct and it’s just that we are very equal partners in the house. I think that’s a great place of comfort for, I don’t have to prove anything. We are ego-less and genderless for that matter. That’s like a pure relationship where you are not like a man or a woman, and you transcend. We are very respectful and appreciative. These qualities are very rare.”
Renuka Shahane added, “Sometimes when you are in the public eye, he gives credit to me, regularly, in all his interviews, and well it is not acting and it is all real.” Renuka Shahane laughed while clarifying that. She said, “That kind of appreciation is very important because then you feel loved, feel important, seen and heard.”
