Fifa Club World Cup: Route to the final for Chelsea and everyone else

Chelsea are the only remaining English team in the competition

Chelsea are two wins from winning the Fifa Club World Cup and already know their semi-final opponents.

The Blues Beat Palmeiras 2-1 thanks to a late own goal to set up a last-four tie with another Brazilian side – Fluminense.

Flu had beaten Saudi club Al-Hilal 2-1 on Friday.

The semi-final will be played at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium on Tuesday (20:00 BST).

Two of the quarter-final ties are yet to be played.

European champions Paris St-Germain play Bayern Munich in a repeat of the 2020 Champions League final.

Real Madrid face Borussia Dortmund in a rematch of the 2024 Champions League finale.

The quarter-final draw in full (all times BST):

  • 4 July: Fluminense 2-1 al-Hilal

  • 5 July: Palmeiras 1-2 Chelsea

  • 5 July: PSG v Bayern Munich (17:00)

  • 5 July: Real Madrid in Borussia Dortmund (21:00)

Who will meet in the semi-finals?

We already know Chelsea will play Fluminense, whose team includes 40-year-old ex-Blues centre-back Thiago Silva, on Tuesday at 20:00 BST.

The other semi-final, 24 hours later, will be PSG or Bayern against Real or Dortmund.

Both the semis and the final are being played in New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, which also hosts the 2026 World Cup final.

When is the Club World Cup final?

The final will be played on Sunday, 13 July at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey (20:00 BST).

There is no third-place play-off.
