Ranchi: Police headquarters in the state capital has deployed around 10,000 forces including 4,600 lathi police, 4,000 home guards, eight companies of central armed police force, six companies of Rapid Action Police (RAP) and four tear gas (TG) units to districts for ensuring peace and law and order during Eid festival.
Eid would be celebrated on Monday. The prayers would be offered at 32 mosques and idgahs across the city.
Largest number of deployment has been made in Ranchi district with over 1,000 police personnel, two companies each of RAP and TG units, one company each of CRPF and Rapid Action Force and a bomb disposal squad.
Several districts including Hazaribag and Giridih have also been given considerable number of police force apart from one company each of CRPF and RAP. The CRPF has been deployed in East Singhbhum, Palamu and Dunka as well while Seems Suraksha Bal is posted in Lohardaga.
The Ranchi administration has issued a joint order stating that the city has been divided into four zones for maintaining law and order with each zone under the charge of a magistrate and a Dy SP rank officer.
The RAP would be stationed at Ekra Masjid and Hanuman Mandir on Main Road and Doranda police station area. Besides, 16 quick reaction teams under Dy SPs and officers-in-charge of police stations would be on the move in the city area. The administration would deploy static force at 110 places in the districts including mosques, idghas, temples and other sensitive places.
DIG cum Ranchi SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha stated, “The force would be deployed from 6 am on Monday and would remain stationed till the Eid festivities are over. All concerned officers have been asked to dispose of disputes between different communities. No leave would be allowed to employees except in emergency situation.”
Notably, peace committee meetings, mock drills and flag marches have been held in Ranchi, Khunti and Dhanbad districts in view of Eid festival.
