After scoring an industry hit with the political action thriller Empuraan, Mohanlal is once again ruling the roost at the ticket windows. The actor’s latest flick, Thudaram, has set the box office on fire and is on the verge of crossing Rs. 100 crores gross worldwide. Directed by Tharun Moorthy, Thudaram is a crime thriller set in the Drishyam zone.
Till now, the movie has collected over Rs. 30 crores gross in Kerala, and going by the weekdays trend, this Mohanlal starrer is set to become the first Rs. 100-crore grosser in God’s own country. Empuraan was expected to achieve this record in Kerala, but due to mixed reviews, it didn’t get past the three-digit mark.
Thudaram is recording sensational occupancies on working days and the advances look superb for May 1, which is a public holiday on account of Labour’s Day. Thudaram is even dominating the new release Retro and such has been the box office annihilation. Shobana played Mohanlal’s wife in this flick.
